As expected, Ajay Devgan’s new film Singham opened to a very good response at theatres. The film attracted a lot of crowd on Friday.

The movie, directed by Rohit Shetty, saw a phenomenal response at single screen theatres, with some even running house full. The average occupancy at single screen theatres ranged between 75 to 90 percent. Multiplexes too saw a lot of bums on seats as the movie managed a response of 50 to 70 percent.

The film has got mixed reviews from the critics but the general audience verdict seems to be in the film’s favour. Moreover, with no major releases on next Friday, the film won’t face more competition than it already is from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has rounded off its first week at box office with a collection of Rs. 45 crore nett, making it a hit. Meanwhile, Murder 2 completed its two weeks with an aggregate collection of Rs. 43.50 crore nett. It’s a Hit.

The month of July has been very good for trade. It has seen three hit films so far: Delhi Belly, Murder 2 and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. And now, Singham is on its way to become the fourth hit of the month.
