Without going into the specifics, India said Friday the July 13 serial blasts in Mumbai would be discussed during the strategic dialogue with the US next week. US secretary of state Hillary Clinton and foreign minister S M Krishna are expected to discuss counter-terror measures during the dialogue on July 19.
“It will certainly come up as part of the ongoing exercise between the two countries to share intelligence on terror. We will see if this can be of any help in the Mumbai blasts,” said government sources, even though they added that it can’t be said with certainty that the blasts originated from outside India.
Top US counter-terrorism officials, including US director of national intelligence James R. Clapper and deputy secretary at the department of homeland security Jane Holl Lute, are among those accompanying Clinton on her three-day visit that begins on Monday.
