Three Nepali domestic help were arrested for allegedly stealing Rs 7.5 lakh cash from the house of a real estate businessman, police said here today. “On specific information, domestic servant Sunil (22) along with his associates Rakesh (24) and Keshar Basyal (21), all resident of Ghairung village in Nepal’s Gorkha district, were arrested from ISBT bus stand when they were planning to board a bus to Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday,” a senior police official said. Rs 6.76 lakh cash and a mobile phone were recovered from their possession. “Virender Singh, a resident of South Extension-II and having real estate business in Gurgaon and Jalandhar, filed a police complaint on June 24 that his domestic help Sunil was missing and Rs 7.5 lakh cash, which he had kept in a wooden almirah and an expensive mobile phone, had been stolen from his house,” South District DCP Chhaya Sharma said. Another domestic help, Rakesh, who was working at the house of Singh’s tenant was also missing, she said. During investigation, it came to light that Sunil’s parents were staying at Pathankot and the accused were missing along with their distant relative Keshar, also a domestic help. Police raided Sunil’s house at Pathankot and questioned the trio’s friends and relatives who told them that the three had left for Sonauli on Indo-Nepal Border. Further investigations found that the trio had returned to Delhi and were planning to move to Jammu after which a trap was laid and the three were arrested from ISBT Anand Vihar.PTI SMJ
