
Jail superintendent of Delhi’s Tihar Jail, who caught giving preferential services to high-profile inmates like Suresh Kalmadi, has been given ‘Kala Pani’ as a punishment.
Tihar Jail Superintendent SC Bhardwaj has reportedly been transferred to Cellular Jail in Portblair, capital of Andaman and Nicobar Island, after he was found serving tea and biscuits to high-profile Commonwealth Games accused Suresh Kalmadi inside his chamber.
Bhardwaj is also accused of bending the jail rules and giving special treatments to other high-profile inmates.
The incident came into the light when a judge of 2G trial court, Justice Brijesh Garg went on a surprise visit of Tihar Jail on Thursday. After visiting the Tihar, Garg found that jail rules were bent to help high-profile prisoners.
