BJP was fast becoming a lethargic party governed by the old guard who responded to crisis lazily. It miserably failed to build upon the weaknesses of Congress. It was weakening the image of the party. Even those people who wanted to get rid of Congress were not being successfully convinced by the leadership that BJP was their hope.

Anna Hazare movement dented the image of Congress everywhere. Millions of Indians were on the roads to show their anger against corruption and specially Congress who failed to check corruption effectively in political class. The power of Anna Hazare anti-corruption movement is still being under-estimated by most politicians. They are failing to realise that if one person was on the road in anger, there were atleast 50 others who were supporting it without entering the visible protesters.

Rahul Gandhi has failed to provide powerful leadership to crisis-ridden Congress. Therefore projecting him as future PM may not work much for Congress. Again the circumstances are providing a golden chance to BJP to show its hidden mettle and lead the anger of people to major victory in next elections.

But the task is herculean due to two reasons: 1. Election is still very far and a lot can happen in next two years. 2. BJP is still not ready to galvanise the party with new dynamic leadership. It has to be done if party wants to survive powerfully.

Mammoth and historical anti-corruption movement has shaken the political class and people saw villains and heroes of Indian political world.

In BJP three politicians emerged as winners and won the appreciation of the people recently : Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitely and Varun Gandhi.

Sushma Swaraj must be projected as PM from the side of BJP . Arun Jaitely can manage the political affairs of the party. Varun Gandhi can be projected as a new youth icon. Old guards can work behind the scenes as advisors. This arrangement will definitely add dynamism to the party leadership. The party must be projected as a determined anti-corruption force.

But BJP needs to act fast and shake-up its lethargic wings to make a quick launch of a new reformed BJP. Unless it is done there is no hope for BJP in next election even if Congress loses shine.
