Anna Hazare is a well know name in India as well as abroad. He has dedicated his whole life to his nation and its people. He is known for his remarkable contribution in creating enough of awareness among the people against corruption. He is the man who can sacrifice himself happily for the development of his motherland.
Why did Anna Hazare never have the thought of getting married?
In the year 1965, Pakistan attacked India and at that time, Hazare was posted at the Khemkaran border. On November 12, 1965, Pakistan launched air attacks on Indian base and all of Hazare’s comrades became martyrs, It was a close shave for Hazare as one bullet had passed by his head. Hazare believes this was the turning point of his life as it meant he had a purpose to life. Anna was greatly influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. It was at that particular moment that Hazare took an oath to dedicate his life in the service of humanity, at the age of 26. He decided not not to let go of a life time by being involved merely in earning the daily bread for the family. That’s the reason why he pledged to be a bachelor.
Pakistan’s air attack on 12th November 1965, death of all of anna’s comrades, only anna survived etc. seems to be a story concocted by anna’s aides with his connivance to glorify his career in army. The India-Pakistan War of 1965 ended on 23rd September 1965 after a UNSC dictated cease-fire. The cease-fire was confirmed by Tashkent Pact in January 1966. During the intervening period, there were a few minor instances of troop intrusion and artillery fire. However air attack on 12th November 1965 seems highly improbable as it would have attracted the ire of UNSC.
