NEW DELHI: Two accomplices of a rape accused were arrested on Sunday . The accused, one Sanjay , raped a seven months pregnant woman in west Delhi last Friday . He is on the run.
The victim (22) had gone to her mother ‘s place for the delivery . Last Friday , when she was walking past Sanjay’s house in the neighbourhood , the trio dragged her inside andthe accused rapedher , said cops . “We have arrested two persons who had helped Sanjay rape the victim .Butitwas not a gangrape ,” said V Renganathan , addl CP (west).
The woman went home and narrated the incident to her family who then lodged a police complaint . To avoid social disgrace , the woman at first told cops that the accused had only tried to rape her .
When the victim was sent to an NGO for counselling , she revealed that she had been raped . The FIR was then amended . The two arrested are school dropouts and unemployed.
